rep record of standing

you can't buy rep.

$REP pays its holders out of its own trading fee. But how large a share you receive — and how much you pay to trade — is set by a score attached to your wallet, and that score is built out of elapsed time and genuine activity. It has no balance term. A wallet that arrives today with a hundred times your money starts exactly where you started: at zero.

Rewards are gated by an earned score · Size is not an input · The score decays if you stop showing up

Illustration — not live data. The wallets in this record are invented. The arithmetic is not: every score is computed with the contract's own weights (0.35 age · 0.45 hold · 0.20 volume) and its decay schedule. A node rises as its score climbs and its ink fades as the score comes off. An edge thickens only under sustained activity on both sides. $REP is not deployed; there is no chain to read.

Section 1

How it works

Three
steps
only

01

Hold, and keep holding

Your score starts the moment your wallet first receives $REP. Two of its three parts are made of nothing but elapsed time: how long you have been in the system, and how long your current position has gone unbroken. Together they are worth 80% of the score. Every time tokens leave your wallet, the second clock resets to zero.

02

Trade for real — up to a point

The third part is your cumulative traded volume, and it is capped. It is worth 20% of the score and no more, however much you push through. Past the saturation point it adds nothing at all. This is the part that stops anyone from spending their way to the top of the ladder.

03

Your score prices your trades and your share

The score maps to one of four tiers. Your tier sets the fee you pay on a buy or a sell — 3.00% at the bottom, 1.00% at the top — and it multiplies your weight in the reward pool that those fees fund, from 1.00× up to 2.00×. Both are read from your own wallet at the moment of the trade.

Section 2

The part you need to know before you buy

Plain
statement

Notice

Reputation decays

Stop using your wallet and the score comes off it. After 30 days of inactivity the score bleeds linearly to zero over the following 30 days, and your tier goes down with it — fee back up to 3.00%, reward weight back down to 1.00×. This is not a penalty bolted onto the design. It is the thing that makes the score mean anything, because a score you cannot lose is just a receipt for having been early.

Claiming your rewards counts as activity and refreshes the clock. So does any buy, any sell, any transfer in or out, and calling sync on your own wallet — which costs nothing but gas. What does not refresh it is somebody else touching your wallet on your behalf. The clock only moves for your own actions, which is precisely why an abandoned wallet cannot be kept alive by a script.

Read plainly: the yield is conditional on staying active. If you buy $REP and walk away, you keep full weight for thirty days and then watch it drain to the floor. That is the product, not a footnote.
